Longview Family Dental

Dr. Simmons graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1993 and took over his father’s dental practice in North Dallas. Dr. Simmons was also an Associate Clinical Professor for Baylor College of Dentistry until 2004. While at Baylor he did research and published a paper on an autoimmune disease called Sjogren’s Syndrome, which causes severe dry mouth.

In 2005, Dr. Simmons and his wife Lana decided to sell his practice to get out of the big city and moved to Jacksonville Tx, to raise his son Dustin. They wanted to be in a more small-town environment where he could teach his son to do some of his favorite hobbies of hiking, camping, and fishing. His son was able to achieve his Eagle Scout Level in Boy Scouts and has graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelors degree in arts and technology with hopes of a graphic arts career in game and web design. Even though he will not be carrying on the legacy of dentistry that his father did, he does have the DDS initials.

Dr. Simmons and his wife, who is a Registered Nurse, will have been happily married for 32 years. Dr. Simmons continues to enjoy fishing and hiking as often as possible but spends much of his free time doing another one of his favorite hobbies- playing the guitar and harmonica in a local band.

Dr. Simmons is very proud of his family heritage because he and his forefathers have a stellar reputation of providing compassionate, innovative, and quality dentistry for their patients, and he intends to continue that history of excellence with all of his new and old patients for years to come.
