POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Procurement Director leads all sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities
for the manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for developing procurement strategy,
ensuring reliable supply of materials, optimizing cost, and supporting production goals. The
Procurement Director partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to
drive supplier performance, mitigate risk, and support long‐term business growth.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provide daily leadership and direction to team members to ensure goals, schedules, and quality
standards are met. • Assign and monitor work to maintain efficient workflow and support
production requirements. • Train, coach, and develop employees and provide ongoing skill
development. • Conduct performance evaluations, give feedback, and address performance
issues promptly and professionally. • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety
regulations, and manufacturing procedures. • Maintain a safe work environment, including
enforcing PPE use and reporting hazards. • Manage staffing levels, including scheduling,
approving time off, and coordinating overtime as needed. • Support continuous improvement,
identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve processes, and increase efficiency. • Resolve
employee concerns and escalate issues when necessary. • Communicate effectively with
cross‐functional teams such as Operations, Quality, HR, and Supply Chain. • Promote a positive
culture, encouraging teamwork, accountability, and respect.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

essential functions. • Develop and execute procurement strategy aligned with production,
inventory, and financial objectives. • Lead the purchasing team, providing direction, coaching,
and performance management. • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost,
delivery, and capability. • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and long‐term agreements to secure
competitive and stable supply. • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as on‐time
delivery, quality metrics, and cost targets. • Drive cost‐reduction initiatives, including value
engineering, alternative sourcing, and supplier consolidation. • Collaborate with Operations to
ensure material availability and resolve supply constraints. • Manage procurement risk, including
single‐source suppliers, geopolitical issues, and market volatility. Ensure compliance with
company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing standards. • Implement
procurement systems and tools to improve efficiency, visibility, and data accuracy. • Support new
product introductions by sourcing new materials, components, and suppliers. • Lead supplier
audits in partnership with Quality and Engineering.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree
preferred. • 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing
environment. • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract
management. • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain
dynamics. • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross‐functional
initiatives. • Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship‐building skills. • Proficiency
with ERP/MRP systems and procurement analytics tools. • Professional certifications (e.g.,
CPSM, CPIM, CSCP) are a plus.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Must be able to lift up to 15
pounds at times. • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs. • May
require travel.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time salary position with 40 hours per week, occasional overtime may be required.
