ELF Coalition Seeks Community Partners to Support East Texas Families This Christmas

Churches, businesses, civic groups, and nonprofits invited to help meet growing demand for holiday assistance.

The ELF Coalition is calling on the community to help bring a happy holiday season to East Texas families facing hardships.

Bringing together nonprofit organizations, emergency services, and local school districts, the coalition coordinates Christmas assistance for children and families in need. Participating groups work together to coordinate resources, establish eligibility guidelines, streamline registrations, and partner with major drives such as Toys for Tots. Organizations also confidentially share recipient lists to prevent duplicate assistance and reach more families.

As demand for holiday assistance continues to grow, several longtime coalition members have reached capacity. Additional support is needed to help existing partners serve more families and bring new organizations into the effort.

Churches, businesses, civic groups, and nonprofits are invited to get involved by adopting families, sponsoring Christmas drives, or supporting participating organizations.

Current coalition members include:

  • Salvation Army Angel Tree

  • Haverty’s / Newgate Christmas Bag

  • Hiway 80 Rescue Mission

  • Toys for Tots

  • Longview Police Department Blue Santa

  • Longview Fire Department, supporting children in CPS

  • Buckner

  • Pine Tree ISD

  • Empty Stocking Marshall

  • Code 3 Christmas, Hallsville Police & Fire

Together, community partners can help extend holiday support to more local children and families this Christmas.
